Maggie Mae +
I finished the front of Miss Maggie Mae.

I really like it. This is one of the VERY few garments I've smocked on solid colored fabric. I usually prefer prints but I like the effect of the smocking on the solid. Its elegant and classy.
I've started smocking the sleeves now.
I like smocked sleeves. I hope I can get this dress finished soon. I have another smocked dress to make for my friend Jenny's little girl. We are doing a trade....I'm making a smocked dress for her little girl and she is knitting me a pair of socks and making a sweater for Silas.Speaking of which...I've not introduced Silas yet on this blog. He is the sweetest baby ever and I love him bunches.
Silas Gentry Wilson entered the world on January 6, 2009. He weighted in at 8 lbs 12 oz and was 19" long.

Have a great day!

You do beautiful work! wish I could think of something you'd want to trade in exchage for a smocked dress.
As always, Silas is such a cutie.
Dana! Silas has got some chubby kissable cheeks!
And of course, your dress is beautiful.
Did you ever consider giving classes to teach others to do beautiful smocking like that? That would have been beautiful on my girls Easter dresses! I do sewing too, but have never seen anything like that before. Beautiful!
Your little one is precious!
Silas and the dress are both beautiful. I've always wated to smock but have never learned how. MAybe one day I can find someone that can teach me.

Your smocking is exquisite, Dana! I'm sure you've been very busy with your bundle of baby boy. :)
Glad to see you back!! Congratulations on the arrival of Silas :)
Ah, the smocking is great! I am planning to learn how to do smocking here in the next couple months or so. It's so pretty!
Silas is a fabulous name, btw. I may be slightly biased, but so it is :D
